DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) - Daphne High School swimmer Chrysa Nowell didn't set any records this season. The freshman didn't win any trophies at the State Championships.

But it would be hard to find a high school athlete in the area -- in any sport -- who has been more inspirational to her team, or anyone that sees her swim.

Nowell was born with Arthrogryposis, a rare congenital disorder that is characterized by multiple joint contractures and can include muscle weakness and fibrosis.

The 15-year-old doesn’t let any of that stand in her way as she ‘wiggles’ through the pool to the finish, leaving some fans in tears and others cheering at the top of their voices.
