    The Equifax breach compromised the personal data of as many as 143 million Americans. Among the data exposed: Social Security numbers. Criminals can use your Social Security number to steal your identity. They can open bank accounts and credit cards or apply for a loan. As a result, homes and businesses in 55 Gulf Coast communities passed by Mediacom’s fiber-rich digital network now have access to download speeds that are up to 40 times faster than the minimum broadband definition set by the Federal Communications Commission.
