Chief Meteorologist Jason Smith has tracked severe storms and hurricanes at FOX10 News for the past 10 years.

Jason started at WALA FOX10 News in 1999 and served as weekend meteorologist until 2002. He was promoted to morning meteorologist, and held that role until the spring of 2009. Jason gained valuable experience as he tracked many tropical systems, including Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina, while working with then-Chief Meteorologist John Edd Thompson.
