MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - WALA/FOX10’s internet news audience may notice some changes to Fox10tv.com. Starting October 1, 2012, FOX10’s homepage will showcase a pink design in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Breast cancer is such a devastating disease that impacts so many people from so many walks of life,” said WALA and WFNA Vice President and General Manager Gary Yoder. “All of us at FOX10, CW55 and especially our web staff at fox10tv.com are proud to do our part to help raise awareness this month.”

In addition to the change in color palette, online users will also have access to important news and information. While most people are aware of the dangers of breast cancer, not everyone takes steps to detect the disease in its early stages. Many experts believe the best way to fight breast cancer is to have a plan for early detection.

“Our goal is to provide valuable information for our Fox10tv.com users,” said WALA and WFNA Digital Director Laura Rainey. “We want to raise awareness among the women who use our site — plus their sisters, mothers, daughters and friends.”

The new look for FOX10 News’ website will be up for the entire month of October. Web users will have access to news, events and local resources on Fox10tv.com
