Mobile, Ala. (WALA) - WALA FOX10 premiered a new news set and motion graphics design in the 9:00pm newscast on Saturday April, 21. In addition to the new set and graphic elements, FOX10 News will also broadcast its news in high definition television.

“We set out to accomplish a complete update to the presentation of our local news broadcasts,” said WALA and WFNA Vice-President and General Manager Gary Yoder. “From the design of the set and graphics to the new HD cameras —everything was done to improve the visual experience for our viewers.”

FOX10 News employed motion design company Giant Octopus to create the 3D graphics for the new look. For the news set, FOX10 News worked with the design firm FX Design Group.

“We hope our viewers will be very pleased with all the updates to our newscasts,” said FOX10 News Director Bob Cashen. “But we also want to assure them that our primary focus remains on them – providing Gulf Coast residents with the very latest news, weather and information they need to keep their families safe and informed.”

FOX10 News also added HDTV cameras, high tech studio lights, graphics computers and high definition production control equipment. After a lengthy design and construction period, station management expects the new look will be refreshing to viewers and staff members alike.
