Mobile, Ala. (WALA) - WALA FOX10 announced the debut of a new 4:30am newscast. The half-hour extension of the morning news program will begin Monday August 27, 2012.

“This is such a natural extension of our existing morning news,” said WALA and WFNA Vice President and General Manager Gary Yoder. “Our viewers’ lives are busy and their mornings are busy. Starting our news day a half-hour earlier is a way to ensure they get the news, weather and traffic information they need…when they need it.”

The existing FOX10 News morning newscast is anchored by Sarah Wall and Eric Reynolds with weather provided by Meteorologist Michael White. The 4:30am to 5:00am addition will feature a single anchor rotation between Wall and Reynolds as well as weathercasts by White.

“Viewers can expect the same local, regional and national news and weather coverage they’ve come to rely on from the FOX10 News morning team,” said FOX10 News Director Bob Cashen. “This gives our early-morning news audience even more viewing options.”

Station management said the morning edition of FOX10 News will air weekdays from 4:30am until 8:00am. The morning news will still be followed by FOX10’s lifestyle and entertainment show, Studio 10
