MOBILE, Ala. - Kerry Cohen became the Marketing and Communication Director for
United Way of Southwest Alabama in 2006 and immediately took on the
responsibilities of the planning and execution the marketing,
communication, public relations, educational and promotional
materials for the organization. With over 12 years of marketing,
design and sales experience she also coordinates all United Way
external events such as Campaign Kick-offs, Annual Meetings, and
Day of Caring. Before United Way, she volunteered with the Sickle
Cell Disease Association, Mobile Chapter to help get the word out
about this life threatening blood disorder.
Cohen was born in Kingston, Jamaica and left the Caribbean
island after graduating from high school to go to college in
Florida. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and a
Minor in Advertising in 1992 from the University of North Florida,
in Jacksonville, Florida. Kerry, her husband and three children
relocated from Atlanta, Ga. in 2003 and now resides in West Mobile.
