It's the weekend, and the moonpies and beads will be flying in Downtown Mobile. But that's not all that's happening.
A festival of sweetness is taking over the Mobile Civic Center Expo Hall. The annual Chocolate Festival offers a chocolate challenge, Project "Yumway" and plenty of chocolate. It starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 4. General admission is $3 with proceeds benefiting the Penelope House.
The 18th Annual "Super" Chili Bowl Cookoff is a great way to gear up for the Superbowl. It's at the Flora-Bama on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. You can try all the chili you want, nab a few give-a-ways, and enjoy live music. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
It is the first big weekend for Mardi Gras for Downtown Mobile. The Conde Cavaliers kick off the first weekend of parades on Friday, February 3. Click here for the complete parade schedule .
