GRACO STROLLERS
Parents, listen up. One and a half million baby strollers are being recalled. The Graco stroller is reported to have a problem with a hinge on the canopy. The strollers and travel systems were made between October 2004 and 2008.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says several children suffered fingertip amputations and severe cuts.
For information on how to get a repair kit you can call Graco or the CPSC at 800-345-4109. Or you can go to Graco's website: www.gracobaby.com and click on the RECALL information.
MACLAREN STROLLERS
Maclaren has recalled its umbrella strollers because children could get their fingers caught in one of the hinges.
The recall includes all of Maclaren's single and double umbrella strollers. The company has received reports of children having their fingertips amputated by the hinge. Maclaren is distributing protective covers for the hinges.
You can call 1-877-688-2326 or go to Maclaren's website: www.maclarenbaby.com/us and click on RECALL.
DOREL ASIA CRIBS
About 635,000 cribs sold by Kmart, Sears, Wal-Mart and other stores have been recalled after the death of a 6 month old boy and multiple reports of injuries.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 20 models of Dorel Asia cribs with both drop sides and fixed front rails. They were recalled because their drop sides can detach, creating a space where a child can be trapped, suffocate or strangled.
For more information, you can call 1 (800) 295-1980 or log onto Dorel Asia's website at www.dorel-asia.com and click on SAFETY NOTICES.
STORK CRAFT CRIBS
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission is announcing the biggest crib recall in history: 2.1 million drop-side cribs manufactured by the Canadian company Stork Craft.
The agency is warning parents to stop using these cribs immediately. There have been reports of incidents where babies have gotten stuck between the side rail and mattress -- and suffocated. The CPSC says parents should stop using the cribs until they get a repair kit from Stork Craft that will allow them to change the drop-side rail to a fixed rail.
The kits can be obtained by calling the company at 1-877-274-0277 or you can log on to www.stork-craft.com and click on RECALLS at the bottom of the web page.
