How to wear a statement shirt 5 ways

Bold prints and bright colors are must haves this season! But when you buy a shirt with a bright, bold pattern, you may have a difficult time figuring out how to pair it with anything other than a pair of jeans. But you can actually wear the shirt more than you think if you use a little imagination.

Rochell E, fashion stylist and wardrobe consultant, says to give a button down blouse in a bold color a classic look, put it under a sleeveless black lace dress. To complete the look, add black pumps and a black clutch.

If you’re looking for a super-peppy look, pair your brightly colored button down top with a neutral or black pencil skirt, and throw a brightly colored cardigan over your shoulders, and add neutral heels or wedges. In cooler temperatures, instead of the cardigan, add a brown faux leather jacket, and boots instead of heels.

Bright colors look great under black suits! Complete your look with patent leather heels and your ready for work. If you’re planning to meet your friends for dinner after work, just remove the blazer for a more casual look.

If you want to keep things casual, you can just wear jeans and sandals with your bold colored shirt. But if you want to spice that look up, add a sleeveless blouse with a bold print on top of your button down.

And don’t be afraid to mix bright colors! If you have a bright pink top, pair it with bright orange shorts, a neutral sweater and neutral pumps. This look is hot!
