MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Conde Cavaliers rolled through downtown Mobile on Friday signaling the start of the Mardi Gras season in the Port city.
Folks lined up early to get a good spot to catch all the throws. This year, the floats each represented a different cocktail such as a White Russian, Jungle Juice, even Moonshine.
The event brought thousands, even Donna Miller from Houston, Texas, came out to see her first Mardi Gras.
"I brought two bags and hopefully I'll come out good with it,” said Mardi Gras.
She wasn’t the only one looking to catch some stuff. Favorites among the crowd were toys, candy and of course moon pies.
This is just the beginning of what many wait for all year.
