PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Downtown Pensacola bustled with activity Saturday afternoon as the 2013 Mardi Gras Grand Parade rolled through the city.
Groups from throughout Pensacola took part in the parade, which started on Spring Street and finishes up on Palafox Street. The history of Pensacola's Mardi Gras goes back to 1874 when the first Knights of Priscus was formed.
Numerous streets were closed off as folks lined up ready to catch beads, moon pies and have some fun. FOX10 spoke to parade goers who said this year's parade is the best yet.
A number of businesses said Mardi Gras, especially the parade, brings a boost to the economy every year.
