Some little Mardi Gras revelers took over the streets of Mobile on Wednesday, February 6, 2013!  The Crew de la Cardinal parade rolled is St. Pius X Catholic School's annual Mardi Gras parade.  Students in pre-k four through the second grade put on their costumes and take to the streets.

This year the theme was Community Helpers.  And, it focused on the military, nurses and doctors, police officers and firefighters.  Organizers tell us getting the littlest revelers involved is what the season is all about!

"The children enjoy Mardi Gras and they see their parents involved in all the Mardi Gras parades and different societies.  So, this gives them a sense of joining into the Mardi Gras spirit," explains Sonia Nelson, one of the parade organizers.

Complete with a king and a queen, the parade started at the school and wound through the neighborhood.  A great way to celebrate the magic of the carnival season!
