Pregnant woman involved in wreck

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. - Alabama State Troopers are investigating a wreck in Mobile County, leaving a pregnant woman in serious condition. The crash happened Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Irvington Bayou La Batre highway and Meadow lane.

State Troopers say a vehicle driven by Eileen Hodges was traveling North when she stopped to make a turn. That's when the a Mazda truck driven by a 17-year-old hit her from behind. Hodge's vehicle was knocked into oncoming traffic and was hit by an S-10 truck driven by David Corry. Two children and a pregnant woman inside the truck had to be taken to USA Medical Center for treatment.

The Pregnant woman had to have a caesarian section to deliver the baby. She is listed in serious condition.

The two children, ages three and four, are expected to be okay.

State Troopers say the teenager driving the Mazda may have been under the influence. He may face charges pending toxicology results.
