MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Police say they have no new leads in the murder of 19-year-old Deangelio Williams, who was killed in downtown Mobile. The teenager was also the brother of a Mobile Police officer. William's mother said she wants the killers caught.
"This is all they left me. One $10 bill, and his pants was pulled down, and they took his cell phone. They took his pants down to make sure they got everything," Cathleen Williams said.
Tears filled William's eyes as she held up the $10 bill found on her son's body.
Williams said her son Deangelio was at her home in the Birdville community Friday. He was going out that night, and she didn't realize it would be the last time that she would see him alive.
"He sat right there and I said, 'Son.' He gave me $40, and said 'I love you, I may be back'. I said, 'Just stay away from the alleys,'" she explained.
Police say Williams was shot by two men on St. Francis and Franklin Street downtown. It's an area many use for parking when in the downtown club district.
Williams was shot on the side of a barber shop where cars were parked. Just a few feet away, there's a security camera at the corner of Claiborne and St. Francis Street. Police are hoping the cameras may provide some information that will help in their investigation.
Police said the robbers asked Williams for a light, and then demanded money. Williams was shot in struggle, when he refused to turn over the cash.
"Robbed and killed my baby. Took his money, and his life, and I'm not happy with that. They didn't even know they killed a policeman's brother," the mother said.
The 19-year-old was the brother of Officer Raymond Williams.
Ms. Williams said she's hopeful the killers will be found.
"I want them to be caught. He went to work, and he liked to go out. He didn't hang with the wrong crowd," she said.
Police say the shooters were last seen in a white compact car.
