Are All Terrain Vehicles safe? David Greene with Greene and Phillips says that depends. He says there are many ATVs that are unstable and can flip over. It often has to do with the wheel base.  There are certain instances where an ATV is modified by the manufacturer so it will fit in the bed of pickup truck, but by narrowing it, they have made it extremely unsafe to drive

If you get hurt riding an ATV Greene says it's worth talking to a lawyer, because certain brands have a propensity to tip, and there are often manufacture defects that can make them especially dangerous.

Greene says if you are hurt while on an ATV, seek medical attention, contact a lawyer who does this type of work, and keep the ATV for diagnostic tests and evidence.
