Music is truly a family affair for Burning Cypress, who lightheartedly call themselves a “band of brothers". High school friends Daniel Jones and Jeff Jones founded the band and found themselves soon playing alongside family members Britt Hawkins and Brent Jones, with Ricky Rivera rounding out the quintet.

Daniel, who sings lead vocals, began his musical journey at a young age, and later moved from Birmingham to the Gulf Shores area to pursue it professionally . He is currently the worship leader at Liberty Church’s Foley campus. His brother Brent lends his talents on drums to the band, and says his style is influenced “by hip hop and rock.”

Britt and his brother Jeff both bring unique backgrounds of sound engineering and leading worship to the group. Ricky, the band's bassist, hails from San Diego, and has honed is skills through various groups and ventures throughout the years.

Based out of Gulf Shores, this band has a heart for just one thing: touching people’s lives through their music. Though they love leading people in worship, and they're ready to reach hearts with their hard-hitting original songs.

The members of the band have lived out their mission statement by helping lead worship for events like youth camps and special events. They are now poised to take their music to a wider audience. The band’s latest EP released in June 2012, features the very best of the band’s offerings, backed by the engineering of Matt Damico, featuring songs, “Hypocrite”, “Can’t Get Over You”, “Beautiful World”, “Troubles”, and “Something To Believe In”.
