Burning Cypress plays on Studio 10

Burning Cypress was formed in November of 2010 through friendships with musicians from different churches in Baldwin County. The band consists of Daniel Jones, Jeff Jones, Britt Hawkins, Ricky Rivera, and Brent Jones. Each member brings a different musical style to the group ranging from Techno, Hip-Hop, Metal, Pop to Experimental Rock. These backgrounds are combined to create a unique sound that is both powerful and moving.

Their songs talk about being lost, daily struggles, and the spreading of God’s love. Through their music, the band wants to reach out and touch people’s lives while inspiring them in their own walk with God.

The band works together as a team using each member’s strengths that make touring, song writing, web design, and graphic design possible. Like most bands starting out, they realize it will be a tough road ahead, but feel they can be successful by keeping God first and following His plan for their lives and music.

Their first single titled "Beautiful World" was released August 26, 2011 on iTunes. It is a melodic song that is catchy and powerful, with a deeper meaning of overcoming obstacles and daily struggles in seeking God's plan. The tentative release date for the full “Beautiful World” album is scheduled for April 2012.
