Rod Richmond grew up on a farm, hunting, fishing, and running the back roads of a very small town in Northern New York. After graduation, he joined the army at age seventeen. Rod traveled all over the country to see as much of it as he could. He says his most vivid memories come from the time he was assigned to the World Trade Center after the attacks on September 11.

Rod has been a farmer, a diesel mechanic, an EMT, a firefighter, and a physician assistant. As he grew up, he was taught how to build, wire, and plumb a house. He is also licensed to drive a tractor trailer. He has been described a “jack of all trades” and possible “master of none”.

Rod got his first guitar at age five. His musical heroes are Johnny Cash and Elvis. His influences range from classic country artists like Marty Robbins and Conway Twitty to southern rock legends like CCR and Skynrd and everyone in between.

Rod recently moved to Nashville to pursue his passion in music. He has just completed his "Livin In the USA" album. He wrote or co-wrote all the songs on the album.

Rod says that his wife Betty is the heart and soul of his music. She has been his manager for five years. He says the partnership they have is the key to his success. He has one son, Arthur, who has also been a tremendous source of inspiration and motivation for him both in writing and performing.

Rod’s debut album: Star In The Window was released May 17, 2009 on the Red White and Blue Records label. Rod has dedicated the album to The American Gold Star Mothers and is donating a portion of the proceeds to them. His new album "Livin In the USA" is also dedicated to the American Gold Star Mothers and part of the proceeds will be donated to them.
