The Coastal Wildlife Rescue/Rehabilitation Center will host an “Ol River Folk and Blues” Festival on August 11, 2012 at Happy Harbor On The Line, across from the Flora-Bama. The fundraising event will include 14 bands from all over the U.S. playing from 10:30 am until 11:30 pm. There will also be a silent auction with the proceeds going to the Coastal Wildlife Rescue Center, woodcarving, belly dancers, face painting, LED hula hoops, a wildlife artist and many other vendors.

The entertainers will include Guthrie Trapp and Friends, Drew Landry, Paul Farrar, Opossum and Friends, Fritzi Presley and Mississippiana, T-Bone Montgomery, just to mention a few.

The silent auction will be held from 11:30 am until 6:00 pm. Some of the auction items will include a four-hour fishing trip and a three-day stay at a condo on the Gulf. There will also be a raffle for the Private Reef.

The Coastal Wildlife Rescue/Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured wildlife in Baldwin County. Each year thousands of injured or distressed wildlife have to be shipped to other facilities for treatment. The center does not receive money from either the state or federal governments.

Only through the community’s support by donations and volunteering will the center be able to continue its work.  With your help, the center will continue to grow into the kind of wildlife center that residents in Baldwin County truly deserve. For further information, contact Jody Young at 251-943-4678.
