Steinway and Sons is a company that has been making handmade pianos in America for more than 150 years. According to Tommy Edds from Steinway and Sons, more than 97% of all performing soloists perform on Steinway pianos. He also says there are 1,600 Steinway artists.

Steinway also designs and engineers the Boston and Essex line that are manufactured in limited production. This gives customers a piano designed by Steinway but at lesser price point. The pianos are sold at Broussard's Piano Gallery.
