MiShondia Robinson is no stranger to the “mic.” She sings and writes from the heart. As a young child, all she did was sing. At the age of 8 she sang her first solo, “At the Cross.” It was then her mother recognized the gift that God had placed on her life. As a result, MiShondia began singing and winning several local talent shows.
At the age of 12, she received Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and committed to use her gift for Christ. She joined the Port City United Voices Youth Choir of the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
Throughout the years, she has been a part of some of the city’s greatest gospel groups such as the Mobile Metropolitan Mass Choir and the Davis Family Singers. With these groups, MiShondia opened for many artists such as John P. Kee, Karen Clark-Sheard, and Rev. Al Green. She was also afforded the opportunity to travel with the Davis Family Singers to perform at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Umbria, Italy. Since then she has also lent her background vocals to such artists as Dwayne Woods, Sheri-Jones Moffett, and opened up for the renowned Vanessa Bell Armstrong.
In July 2010, MiShondia debuted with the released of her long awaited singles Glory and Rightful Place leaving many asking for more. Currently, she is working towards the release of her CD entitled Rooted and Grounded. Through her singing and ministering, the presence of God is evoked, and her passion for Christ is felt. Her desire is to lead people into His presence so that they may experience and know His undying love, His unmerited grace, and His purpose for their lives. She knows that with God, nothing is impossible and her life and music are a testimony to that fact.
This singer, songwriter, school teacher, pastor’s wife and mother is a native of Mobile and a graduate of Faulkner Christian University. MiShondia understands the need for good music and the hard work and love that goes into it. She has a sound that is undeniable and a message that is straight from the heart.
