Pets Welcome at Church

Realizing that pets, more than ever, are being considered family members, Unity on the Eastern Shore Church, located at 22979 US Highway 98 in Fairhope, is extending an invitation to the public to bring their well-behaved pets to church services.

This is the first time any church on the Eastern Shore has allowed pets to be part of a regular church service and it will begin on Sunday, May 27 at 10:30am and continue on every 4th Sunday of the month.  All dogs must be housebroken, up-to-date on their shots, well-socialized and on a leash seated on the floor next to their owner.  All other pets must be in a carry crate.

Well-socialized, adoptable pets from The Haven and Baldwin County Humane Society’s foster program are also invited, with each animal required to be accompanied by a responsible adult.  The Church feels that this is a wonderful way for the “entire family” to join in the Church’s Celebration of Life Service.

About The Haven Adoption Guarantee Animal Shelter
The Haven rescues, re-habilitates, and re-homes over 900 animals each year serving Baldwin County since 2000.  The non-profit animal shelter is responsible for leading the four municipal animal control shelters into creating a no-kill society for companion pets, caring for over 70 homeless cats and dogs at the shelter on any given day, and finding loving homes for these homeless, injured, neglected and abused and abandoned animals.  All animals are vaccinated, evaluated both behaviorally and medically, fed, watered and marketed until they find their forever home.
