FOLEY, Ala. - An Air force officer from the Foley area was killed by a suicide bomber on Memorial Day.
Lt. Col. Mark Stratton was one of three U.S. Troops killed in the blast. He was 39-years-old and a career military man. He was working at the Pentagon before being deployed to Afghanistan in November.
He leaves behind a wife and three kids in Washington D.C.
His brother, mother and step-father live in Foley.
Stratton graduated from Foley High School went to college at Texas A&M. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
