PENSACOLA, Fla. - Only five distinctions were given out in the country. The honor means they'll be creating career academies here in our area. School officials say students are more likely to get jobs when they graduate. Schools will be teaming up with colleges and businesses to give the kids real work experience and skills.

"Real work experience, what really matters in work place, communicating well, knowing expertise, critical thinking, knowing you have that entry level experience to get a job, its all about jobs," said Natalie Prim with the Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce.

Both school districts will share $30,000 to make this happen. They say that by creating career academies it will lower dropout rates, and make it more likely the kids will get jobs.
