GULF COAST - It's looks like an iPhone on steroids, but you can't use it to call home. Wednesday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the new iPad.
The tablet-style computer is a 9" screen, weighing under 2 lbs. You can play video games, listen to music, read your email, and search the internet at 3G speeds.
"What this device does is extraordinary. You can browse the web. It is the best browsing experience you've ever had. It's phenomenal to see a whole Web page right in front of you that you can manipulate with your fingers. It's unbelievably great. Way better than a laptop, way better than a smartphone," said Steve Jobs.
The entry level iPad with WiFi and 16GB of memory will sale for $499. Expect to pay $599 for the 32 GB model and $699 for the 64 GB models. If you want the 3G models, add another $130.
But you can't get one yet. The iPad will be available through AT&T in 60 to 90 days.
