Girls get free dresses at the mall

MOBILE, Ala. - The Gulf Coast CW and Bel Air Mall hosted the "Pretty in Pink" prom dress exchange Saturday. Hundreds of high school girls lined up for the event.

One of the mall spaces was turned in to a store for the event. The event provided dresses in a variety of styles and sizes for the girls.

The "Pretty in Pink" event provided gently used prom dressed to high school students free of charge. Any high school girl could receive a free dress if she showed her student ID or proof of enrollment.

High school student Dominique Mitchell said she waited almost three hours for her dress but it was well worth it. “It feels good to get a dress that normally cost $150-$200”. She said once she was in the in the store it did not taken long to find here dress because every thing was very organized.

The event was held from 10 p.m. - 3 p.m. on the right side entrance of the Mall.

The Gulf Coast CW Crew also gave away promotional items at the event.
