Gulf Shores property auction

GULF SHORES, Ala. - Dennis Gowdy drove from Dallas, Texas in search of a good deal. This weekend, he hopes to purchase a condo at the San Carlos Property.

He plans to use it as investment. The fantastic view of the gulf is one reason why he does not think he will have a problem renting the unit out. "I think this is a very desirable vacation area. I don't think that is going to be the issue, at least I hope not," said Gowdy.

Realtor Desmond Gatti said Gowdy has nothing to worry about. Gulf Shores is an area that is still doing well despite the rest of the country. "If you are in a position to buy something right now, there is never a better time," said Gatti.

Gowdy believes the bids at the San Carlos auction will be what the market is asking for. "I think you will see prices reflect what's going on down here. This market has seen signs of stabilization."

Going into Saturday's auction, it is good news for Gowdy. "And we are going into this hoping to get a fair deal," said Gowdy. The auction will be held Saturday. It starts at 1:00 p.m. at San Carlos condominiums on Beach Boulevard.
