MOBILE - There were two headlining races in Mobile County. One for county
commissioner and one for license commissioner. First up, license
commissioner. Kim Hastie got 56 percent of the vote, to Elizabeth
Edwards' 44 percent.
For the Mobile County commissioner race incumbent Mike Dean
beat his opponent Brad Warren. Dean got 61 percent of the vote.
Third times the charm for Mike Dean. Mobile County voters
elected Dean to another term as county commissioner district three.
County voters elected Dean to another term as county
commissioner district three.
"So much more work to do in this county, but we know how to
do it."
Dean received congratulatory hugs and well wishes from
campaign supporters and fellow republicans. Dean says his first
order of business - taking the county to the top on all frontiers.
"Already number one in economic development, make sure we are
number one in education, and infrastructure, go to bat for our
sheriff."
The race for Mobile County license commissioner centered
around Kim Hastie's promise for "ten minute tags." The republican
celebrates her first victory, and answers the all important
question - when we can expect to see the first ten minute tag?
"Go in January, get some things done in first couple of
months. Maybe first 18 months."
Dean and Hastie credit their supporters for bringing in the
win.
