Man falls 40 feet at Atlantic Marine

MOBILE, Ala. - A man fell more than 40 feet into the hold of a ship at Atlantic Marine around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Crews with Mobile Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The man suffered injuries to his head and face.

A spokesman for Atlantic Marine said the machinist trainee had to get some stitches and may have to wear a neck brace for a few weeks. The company hopes he will be released from the hospital by the end of the week, and that he is already up and walking around.

The company declined to identify the man.
