PENSACOLA, Fla. - Samira Watkins' family held on to hope that she was safe until Tuesday afternoon. It wasn't until two people on a waverunner found her body floating in Bayou Grande that they realized she had been murdered.

Her sister, April Joseph, said, "We couldn't just believe, too unreal to hear something like that."

Watkins was last seen at her grandmother's house Thursday when she dropped off her 5-year-old son. She told her family she was going to her boyfriend's apartment and that was the last time they heard from her.

Joseph said, "I'd just tell her how much I love her, we need to squash everything and become sisters again."

Now that the search for Watkins is over, police are interviewing several people.

"They haven't really told us, but told us they found her body in a duffle bag which is really unbelievable," said Joseph.

The family's only want is for police to catch whoever is responsible.

Deputies have spoken to Watkins' boyfriend but they won't release his name or say if he's a person of interest.

An autopsy was conducted Wednesday. However, the medical examiner is waiting on additional tests before releasing the results.
