MOBILE, Ala. - A mother and daughter who work at a service station together got the scare of their lives, when an armed robber pulled out a gun, and demanded money.
Clerks at the Shell Service Station said the suspect came in and stood in the snack aisle for 15 minutes, and waited for other customers to leave. That's when he walked up to the counter, and pulled the gun.
Authorities say he demanded the mother to give him money from the register. He took the money, and walked out the door.
Tameka Miller is a clerk at the Shell Station. She said the robbery can't make her live her life in fear.
"I'm not scared I guess I must have a guardian angel, I'm okay," Miller said.
Zia Hicks is also an employee at the Shell station. She said the robbery doesn't put her on edge, either.
"It hasn't made me scared at all. Not yet, maybe, because it hasn't happened to me. I'm not scared, but it doesn't scare me, I still come to work," Hicks added.
Hicks said the clerks talked about the robbery, but there isn't much they can do about it.
"We talked about it. Well, me and the other cashiers, we talked about it because the Chevron up the street got robbed a couple of times. We just said, 'Well we'll just try to prevent, like keep the doors locked, lock one door, this person keep an eye on this and that.' But hey, things happen all the time," she said.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery has been asked to contact the Mobile Police Department.
