Body of missing pregnant woman found

PENSACOLA, Fla. - UPDATE: Pensacola Police say that a body found Tuesday afternoon is that of Samira Watkins, a pregnant woman who went missing last Thursday.

Watkins' body was recovered at the Navy Point Boat Ramp off Sunset Avenue, around 3:30 p.m.

Authorities say there are obvious signs of foul play but haven't gone into the cause of death. They also say she had been there for a while, but they have no idea how long.

A person on a wave runner found the body and called 911. Escambia County Sheriff's Deputies were called in, but once they saw the body they realized it may have been the woman police were searching for.

Sunday, November 1, 2009: Pensacola police are investigating the case of a missing 25-year-old pregnant woman.

Samira Lee Watkins was last seen Thursday when she took her 5-year-old son to a relative's house. She told the relative she was going to visit a friend in the 3500 block of Creighton Rd. When she didn't return, the relative called police.

Watkins is described as a black female, 5'7", 120 lbs. She is two-months pregnant.

She was last seen traveling in a 1997 Ford Taurus with Florida license tag B387FP.
