MOBILE, Ala. -
ThyssenKrupp is building an entire plant in Calvert! Which means it'll need plenty of people to help run the operation. So far, its Human Resources Department says thousands and thousands of people have sent in resumes.
Kristy Jernigan - a graduate student knows all about the importance of a resume. "Basically, the only thing an employer will see - can't talk to you or see you in person, so you want to sell yourself on paper," said Jernigan.
Jernigan's been building on her resume for years - keeping tabs on everything she does. Christine Edmiston with South Alabama's Career Services says the purpose of a resume is to get you an interview!
" Make sure you can talk about anything on the resume because all of that is open for question, and helps the employer learn more about you," said Edmiston.
Edmiston says every resume should include a way to contact you, what job you are applying for - as well as your education and work experience. Edmiston says another must have - a cover letter. And when you're competing with thousands - all advice to help you stand out!
Experts also say the resume should be no longer than two pages. To look for a job with ThyssenKrupp, click on the link to the right of this page.
