MOBILE, Ala. - Jessica Snyder told FOX10 News the election, voting, and candidates have all been popular topics around Baker High School.

"It was all the talk, it was chaos. That's all that was going on was the election. Everyone wanted to give their opinion, everyone wanted to get their voice heard, we all wanted to talk about it," said Snyder.

Snyder said they hear so much, sometimes it's hard to know what is true and what's false. Christian Spencer agreed. "It was a big deal. Everyday we heard something, something new," said Spencer.

With the election on many students minds, there were a lot of questions, so their teachers spent Wednesday focused on this historical event.

Jim Willmann is one of those teachers. He said the students wanted to discuss everything starting with the candidates speeches. "The ability of both of the speakers, the statesman like fashion that Senator McCain gave his concession speach, the upbeat nature of Senator Obama, and even how Congress changed," said Willman.

Willmann said the students wanted to know about the future, and he explained best he could based on experience.

"Well, I try to put it all in a historical perspective, being the age that I am I've seen a lot of change in race relations in this country and it's a subject that I have studied and having seen a lot of change it's certainly historical," Willman said.

This election is definitely put in perspective when it's on the minds of so many, even those that can't vote.
