PENSACOLA, Fla. - Imagine driving a car for less than $0.02 a mile, and with gas prices constantly going up and down, wouldn't it just be easier to say good-bye to gas? Well one man is trying to do that.
The new car is called the Corbin Sparrow , and it almost looks like a toy with only three wheels, but boy can it go. Richard Edmonston said it goes "70 miles an hour."
Edmonston bought two of them, which means no more gas station stops for him. He said, "It's all electric, costs me $0.02 a mile, I'm saving 97% now."
It runs off of batteries, and goes for about 60 miles before it needs to be charged again. Instead of using gas, it uses electricity and you look at a little meter to see how much you have left.
"You have a little meter in there, it tells you when you program it how many miles are left, like gas." The cars cost about $8,000 and have to be ordered online.
