MOBILE, Ala. - Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson, Junior just held a news conference in Downtown Mobile, to talk about two cases.

The first is that of former Judge Herman Thomas. Tyson says his office will continue to work on the case as the law requires. Tyson responded to a call from the local NAACP chapter to resign. Tyson says he is "not about to abandon my duties."

On the matter of former Assistant D.A. Steve Giardini, Tyson says the first he knew of any problem was on Saturday, when the FBI called to alert him of the search warrant served at Giardini's home.

Tyson says his office is in the process of determining whether there was anything inappropriate in Giardini's work. There is no information that anything inappropriate was going on at the Child Advocacy Center, where Giardini had an office. The D.A. said every lead will be investigated.
