TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Tuscaloosa County say six people were shot, including two who suffered critical injuries, when gunmen opened fire while trying to rob a group of teenagers at a birthday party.
No one was killed in the shootings late Friday at an apartment complex in Cottondale. Sheriff Ted Sexton said in a statement Saturday that two of the victims - a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old girl - remain in critical condition. He says one of the suspects also was shot and is in stable condition.
Authorities say the shooting broke out after two armed men showed up at a birthday party and demanded money. One suspect, who was arrested unharmed, was identified as 23-year-old Donald Deshun Wynn.
Names of the wounded suspect and victims were not immediately released.
