WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - A Washington County couple is facing more charges in a shocking sex abuse case out of Wagarville.
It’s one of the most disturbing cases First Judicial Circuit District Attorney Spencer Walker said he has ever seen.
The case involves a couple allegedly sexually assaulting their 8-month-old daughter. Now authorities believe a 4-year-old girl is another victim.
"When you're dealing with children of such tender years, it certainly does affect you differently," said Walker.
James Ryan Booth, 33, and Julie Ann Guy, 21, were arrested in February.
Washington County deputies believe the two were taking drugs around their 8-month-old daughter and abusing her together.
Police said a cell phone recorded video of the acts.
Walker said the results from forensic analysis of the pair's cell phones, computers and other digital storage devices shows more video files of the couple sexually abusing the 8-month-old and 4-year-old girls.
"I don't think anyone who deals with these types of crimes against children can shut it out completely, and I’m no different,” said Walker.
New charges have been filed for the acts against the latest victim.
Both Guy and Booth are charged with rape, sodomy, producing pornography and sexual assault of a child under the age of 12.
"I intend to prosecute these cases to the fullest extent of the law," said Walker.
Guy’s 5-year-old son was living with the pair, and officials are still trying to figure out if he was a victim as well.
Both suspects are still in jail on a $525,000 bond.
