Man extradited from Ga. on child sex charge

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say a Union Springs man has been brought back to Montgomery from Fulton County, Ga. on a child sex charge.

Howard Parker Simmons is being held on $250,000 bond in the Montgomery County jail. Officials say Simmons is charged with traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.

Authorities say Simmons traveled to Montgomery in January to meet a boy for sex. He was caught by federal marshals in Georgia in late February, according to AL.com (http://bit.ly/10gLjv8 ).

Simmons is set to appear in Montgomery County Circuit Court on Thursday. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
