MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Federal prosecutors want the corruption trial of Bayou La Batre Mayor Stan Wright and his daughter delayed from January to February. A defense attorney for Wright agreed to the delay .

The U.S. Attorney's office requested the delay in a motion filed Thursday .

It said, "The evidence and the charges overlap and separate trials would require the [United] States to present the same evidence set less than thirty days apart. As the United States anticipates that it will take almost two weeks to present its evidence, these two separate trials would be incredibly inefficient for the Court."
