Inmate escapes, serving time for Mobile crime

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WALA) - The Alabama Department of Corrections says inmate Rhonda Hopkins is considered an escapee from the Birmingham Community Based Facility.
She was noticed missing from her job site on Thursday, July 19 around 3 p.m.
Hopkins is serving a five year sentence out of Mobile County for theft and possession of a controlled substance.
She was sentenced on March 10, 2011 with an expiration of sentence date scheduled September 22, 2012. A parole hearing was scheduled in March but has not been held.
Hopkins is a white female, DOB 6/12/80, 5 feet - 6 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing tan pants and a blue shirt.
