MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Alabama, who used tear gas and thermal imaging equipment as they combed a home for the suspect in a deadly shooting near Auburn University, questioned one of the people who reported seeing the man after officers failed to find him.
Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange told reporters that officers had interrogated the person as the search dragged on, but there was no word on any charges.
The search appeared to have moved on by early Tuesday, with the neighborhood once again quiet and no police in sight.
Authorities are searching for Desmonte Leonard, who's charged in a weekend shooting that left three people dead in Auburn, including two former Auburn University football players.
