Saban: This championship team is special

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Alabama coach Nick Saban might have enjoyed this national championship a little bit more. Certainly, the celebratory dousing was more to his liking.

Saban said Tuesday morning that this Crimson Tide team was special in its commitment to winning. Alabama polished off a 12-1 season with a 21-0 win over LSU on Monday night for its second title in three seasons.

The straight-laced Saban looked downright joyous celebrating the win and didn't even mind when he got dumped with a sports drink afterward. Two years ago, he was captured grimacing following that bath after getting bumped on the head with the cooler.

Saban jokes that "the players improved in terms of their ability to deliver, I improved on my ability to accept, and everybody was happy."
