TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - A theater production inspired by terrifying moments as a killer tornado tore through Tuscaloosa and in the days after the storm will have its premier Friday night.

University of Alabama doctoral student Amir Zaheri said he emerged from his basement after the April 27 storm to find a neighborhood and a city which had "completely shifted."

Zaheri tells The Tuscaloosa News that the experience and the emotions that flowed from it inspired his drama "Look Upon These Faces." It will have its world premiere as the centerpiece of the University of Alabama Opera Theatre's fall program, "Rebuild This House: The Promise of Moving Forward."

The program will be performed Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

The tornado outbreak devastated Tuscaloosa and several other communities across Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee.
