Two Monroeville men killed in accident

MONROEVILLE, Ala. (WALA) - A two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon claimed the life of two Monroeville men.

The crash occurred at 2:45 p.m. on US 84 at the 83 mile marker, six miles east of Monroeville.

Quinton Dewon Smith, 33, and Michael Jermaine Mahan, 28, were killed when the 2002 Ford truck Smith was driving collided with a 1996 GMC driven by Shelly Edward Lambert, 73, of Repton around 2:45 p.m. on US 84.

Smith and Mahan, who were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected from their vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Lambert was transported to Monroeville Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. 

No further information is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
