Body discovered in Destin

DESTIN, Fla. - FOX10 News has learned that a person who was wanted for questioning in a suspicious death has been found. Matthew Stuart Freeman was found hanged, with a suicide note near his body.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of  22-year old Cynthia Barrett. Her body was found by Freeman's mother around 7:30 Thursday morning when she went to a unit at Old Bay Condominiums on Mattie Kelly Boulevard. His mother was supposed to pick up her son for a court appointment in Walton County.

Barrett's 1998 silver Honda Civic was mmissing, believed to have been driven off by Freeman. The car has been found off State Road 20 in Bluewater Bay.

Authorities believe Freeman was the last person to see Barrett alive.

No additional details are being released at this time. The Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy on Barrett to
determine cause of death.
