MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - New campaign finance reports show former two-year college Chancellor Bradley Byrne has raised more contributions than any other Republican candidate for governor, with $2.6 million.
U.S. Rep. Artur Davis is the top fundraiser among the Democrats with nearly $2.2 million, but that includes $1 million transferred from his old congressional account.
Greenville businessman Tim James has generated the most money overall. His Republican campaign has pulled in about $4 million - largely through $2 million in a personal loan to his campaign and $700,000 in loans from supporters.
All the candidates for governor had to file campaign finance reports Monday with the secretary of state.
