DOTHAN, Ala. (WALA) - Because of the closing of Country Crossing, employees from the following venues will be filing unemployment claims on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010

  • Celebrity Station Amphitheater
  • Darryl Worley’s Worley Bird Saloon
  • George Jones Possum Holler Bed & Breakfast
  • The Grascal’s Bluegrass Hollow RV Park
  • John Anderson’s Cafeteria
  • Lorrie Morgan’s Hot Chicken
  • Resorts & Entertainment Group

With these unemployment claims, early estimates indicate that more than $174,165 per week will be paid to out-of-work Country Crossing and HEDA employees. These numbers are based on those eligible to file for unemployment and the state’s going rate for unemployment benefits.

This is added to the loss of more than $6,400 per week in payroll taxes paid to the state by Country Crossing and HEDA.
