CHICKASAW, Ala. (WALA) - The Auburn Urban Studio team of architecture, landscape, and planning professionals released preliminary concepts of a community-wide strategic plan for the City of Chickasaw at the McConnell Civic Center on Grant Street Saturday afternoon.
This is the city’s first long-term comprehensive community strategic plan. It is designed to sustain, preserve, and ensure an environment that fosters growth and enhances the quality of life for all citizens, businesses, and visitors.
The City was awarded coastal planning funding from the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR), State Lands Division, Alabama Coastal Area Management Program. Citizens, business owners, city employees and interested parties met on Thursday evening, March 11 to share their suggestions, ides and visions for the community at a community town hall meeting facilitated by the Auburn team. This is the first time that the Auburn Urban Studio has worked with a South Alabama community.
